Three well-loved Barry Crump books - Hang on a Minute Mate, Crocodile Country & Scrapwagon are presented here in one convenient volume. Vivid, adventurous and hilariously perceptive, Crump's books are as compelling now as when they were first published.

Barry Crump wrote his first book, A Good Keen Man in 1960. It became a bestseller, as did his numerous other books which followed. His most famous New Zealand character is Sam Cash.. who features in Hang On A Minute Mate, Crump's second book. Between them, these two books have sold over 400,000 copies and continue to sell at an amazing rate today.

Crump began his working life as a professional hunter, culling deer and pigs in some of New Zealand's most rugged country.

After the runaway success of his first book, he pursued many diverse activities, including goldmining, radio talkback, whitebaiting, television presenting, crocodile shooting and acting. But, when classifying his occupation, Crump always insisted he was a Kiwi bushman.

He was awarded an MBE for services to literature in 1994. Twenty eight of his books had been published before his death in 1996.
